Steuben

Founded in 1903 by Fredrick C. Carder and Thomas G. Hawkes in Corning, New York; which is in Steuben County and where the company name was appropriately derived from. Steuben was an American art glass manufacturer that became famous for its fine craftsmanship and unique items. Gifted, appreciated and collected by many; and even notably by presidents, celebrities and collectors. Leaders, idols, and loved ones gave and received these lovely glass pieces in all different forms. Hand coolers, engraved bowls, awards, paper weights and fine table ware are just some of the immaculately crafted items that they offered. Many highly respected glass designers worked in coordination with Steuben to elaborate on their unbelievable collections. With the unfortunate turn of events, between the economy and the times changing, Steuben began to see a decrease in sales. In 2011 they officially closed their doors leaving their avid collectors distraught. Many of the items that are still available are very sought after, rare and extremely desirable as the stock readily available has been depleted since the halting of their manufacturing. Steuben contains a certain elegance in each piece and their name is proudly engraved on each item.
